One of two JY vocal songs, and a very pointed one. Don't be fooled by the quiet opening, its only setting the mood of those lyrics. Its about others being there for you, rewards of friendships and of helping others.  The power of friendship [and family], its ability to hodl you through the worst times when everything seems like its going to hell and it's just too hard to go on, to keep fighting your way through life, someone's going to be there. Take care of others as you would yourself, and they're gonna help you pull through if they're truly your friend. As well, we live in times when it seems so hard, and that it seems like we're always on our own, but there's always someone there, no matter who that 'someone' is. [Read that as you will.] Its also a touch of remembering the past, as that is what has gotten us to the present, and helps shape the future somewhat. Its always darkest before the dawn, and I do noticed that sort of thought in the lyrics here.
